Here is my OLD home theater, when I first started the hobby. It's ok, you can laugh...
-
And then there was phase 2. Big TV, small speakers...
-
I soon realized the importance of sound in home theater (good sound, in my opinion, is more important than a big picture) and upgraded my audio system.
-
And here we are with my former setup. The subwoofer may look smaller, but this one has a 15" driver, three passive radiators, and somewhere between 500 to 600 watts driving it.
-
And here the former system with my camera's flash off and the home theater lighting on.
-
You can tell this is old because there are VHS tapes in my cabinet, heh heh.
-
And then I started to fill up that old media cabinet...
-
This is my current DVD rack from Ikea (which has been discontinued sadly enough) which at the time of this picture contains 284 titles. As you can see I am in need of a new one.
-
One of my mains, built by Thomas. These sound absolutely amazing!
-
And of course, the center channel.
-
Weighing in at over 200 pounds is the subwoofer. I actually dropped this while carrying it with a friend when I moved last. The subwoofer survived. However, due to the way I fell my head got smashed between the wall and the sub.
-
This is one of my temporary surrounds while I wait for the other surrounds to be reconed with the Scanspeak drivers. My old boss made these stands for me.
-
And the components. I mainly just use my receiver and DVD player, but sometimes the rare occasion pops up that I power up my laserdisc player.
-
NEW: This is the latest photo of my current home theater. Most of the components are the same, but the RPTV has been replaced with an InFocus DLP projector. The screen retracts to reveal a 27" TV for video games and regular viewing.
-
NEW: This isn't the best quality shot. It's a view of the projector in action.
360 degree panoramic home theater image
This image was taken just for fun back when I lived at the old house. I've decided to leave this up until I can make a new panoramic photo. Please keep in mind my home theater has changed since this photo, and it does not reflect the current condition/status of hardware.
Instructions for using the 360 degree panoramic image: Please give the applet time to load. Click, hold, and drag the image to look around. Press the up arrow to zoom in, and the down arrow to zoom back out. Enjoy!
